Wild Horse Stone From Arizona 3.91 CT

Wild Horse stone (also called Crazy Horse or Appaloosa stone) is a captivating semiprecious gemstone composed of white magnesite and dark brown hematite. Discovered in the mid-1990s near Globe, Arizona, it gets its name from its visual resemblance to the spotted, dappled patterns of pinto horses.

Key Characteristics
  • Composition: Not an actual turquoise, but rather a naturally occurring magnesite-hematite matrix.
  • Appearance: Creamy white backdrop with distinct swirls, webbing, or spots of rich chocolate-brown, maroon, or black.
  • Rarity: It is only found in one specific location in the Gila Wilderness region of southern Arizona.
  • Hardness: Measures at about 4 on the Mohs scale, making it relatively soft and best suited for protective jewelry settings like pendants and brooches.
Popular Uses
Because of its distinct southwestern look, Wild Horse is highly favored in artisan and Native American jewelry designs. It is typically cut into polished, flat-backed cabochons for rings, bracelets, and statement necklaces.
Metaphysical & Healing Properties
Crystal healers and collectors prize Wild Horse for its purported grounding energy. It is commonly used as a talisman to:
  • Balance emotions and alleviate stress.
  • Inspire bravery and a "wild and free" spirit.
  • Create feelings of harmony and peace.
