Yellow quartz encompasses a variety of golden, lemon, and amber-toned crystals, most notably Citrine, Lemon Quartz, and Golden Healer Quartz. Sharing a standard 7.0 Mohs hardness rating, they are used widely in both jewelry and holistic practices for their durability and bright aesthetic. 

Common Varieties
  • Citrine: The most popular yellow quartz. Its color is derived from iron impurities. Natural citrine is rare, so most commercial citrine is created by heating amethyst to high temperatures. 
  • Lemon Quartz: Often bright and neon-yellow, this type of quartz is frequently heat-treated or irradiated to achieve a striking, tangy hue. 
  • Golden Healer Quartz: A macrocrystalline quartz coated with or containing iron oxide, giving it a rich, earthy yellow-orange glow. 
  • "True" Yellow Quartz: Some distinct natural specimens get their color from inclusions like chabazite rather than traditional iron impurities.
