• Composition: A type of cryptocrystalline quartz (chalcedony), measuring a durable 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs hardness scale.
• Origins: Found globally, with notable deposits in India, Brazil, Uruguay, and the United States (specifically, Montana moss agate).
