Mose Agate From India 7.15 CT

Moss agate is a semi-precious gemstone made of translucent chalcedony quartz featuring branching, moss-like or fern-like inclusions. Despite its name, it does not contain organic matter or true agate banding. Instead, its distinctive patterns are formed by metallic mineral impurities like iron or manganese.

Key Characteristics
  • Appearance: Milky-white, grey, or clear quartz base with deep green, black, or reddish-brown "dendritic" (branching) patterns.
  • Composition: A type of cryptocrystalline quartz (chalcedony), measuring a durable 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs hardness scale.
  • Origins: Found globally, with notable deposits in India, Brazil, Uruguay, and the United States (specifically, Montana moss agate).
Popular Uses
  • Jewelry: Prized for its unique, nature-inspired appearance, moss agate has become a highly sought-after, budget-friendly choice for non-traditional engagement and wedding rings.
  • Holistic & Metaphysical: Often called the "Gardener's Stone," it is embraced for grounding and is believed to attract wealth, foster emotional balance, and encourage a deeper connection with nature.
