Nat Zoisite From Tanzania 1.35 CT

Natural (Nat) Zoisite from Tanzania refers to some of the most unique and highly sought-after gemstones in the world, most notably Tanzanite and Ruby in Zoisite. Found exclusively in the Merelani Hills near Mount Kilimanjaro, these stones are prized for their rarity, distinct color palettes, and intense energetic properties.

The two most common and beautiful types of Tanzanian Zoisite include:

1. Tanzanite (Blue/Violet Zoisite)

  • What it is: The blue-violet to violet-blue gemstone variety of zoisite.
  • Key feature: It exhibits trichroism, an optical phenomenon where the gem naturally displays three different colors—blue, violet, and reddish-burgundy—depending on the viewing angle.
  • Treatments: Most tanzanite available on the market is gently heated to lock in the famous deep blue-sapphire hue. However, rare, unheated pieces retaining their natural green, yellow, or pink hues are highly collectible.
  • Rarity: It is famously 1,000 times rarer than a diamond and is expected to be completely depleted within a single generation.

2. Ruby in Zoisite (Anyolite)

  • What it is: A metamorphic rock composed of opaque green zoisite, vibrant, pink-to-red ruby crystals, and dark hornblende.
  • Key feature: Often carved into statues, palm stones, or cut into beads and cabochons.
  • Metaphysical properties: Highly valued in crystal healing, it is used to enhance passion, energy, and cardiovascular health while balancing the heart chakra.
