Nat Faceted Montana Agate
Nat Faceted Montana Agate 2.45 CT
Naturally faceted Montana agate is a rare and striking gemstone. Harvested primarily from the alluvial gravels of the Yellowstone River, its signature translucent chalcedony base is offset by rich red iron oxide and black manganese oxide "moss" or dendritic inclusions.
Because agates are a form of microcrystalline quartz, they boast a durable 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, making them an excellent choice for everyday rings, pendants, and wire-wrapped earrings. Unlike smooth cabochons, expertly faceted cuts on Montana agate play with depth, light reflection, and the stone's internal mossy scenery.
Pricing and Availability
Faceted cuts are relatively uncommon and range widely in price based on the quality of the dendritic patterns and the carat weight.
