Goshenite is the colorless, pure variety of the beryl mineral family, which also includes emerald, aquamarine, and morganite. Known for its exceptional transparency, brilliance, and lack of color, it is frequently used as an affordable alternative to diamonds and is historically referred to as "white beryl".

  • Hardness: 7.5 - 8 on the Mohs scale, making it highly durable for everyday jewelry.

• Color: Pure beryl is completely colorless; however, slight natural impurities can occasionally give it faint hints of green, yellow, or blue.
• Origin of Name: Named after Goshen, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA, where it was originally discovered. 

• "Mother of all gemstones": Because of its lack of trace elements, goshenite is the purest form of beryl. It was historically used as a diamond mimic by jewelers placing colored foil on the back of the stone.
