Merelani Mint Garnet is a rare, vibrant pastel-green variety of grossular garnet found exclusively in the Merelani Hills of Tanzania. Treasured for its exceptional brilliance and high clarity, this natural, untreated gemstone gets its distinct seafoam color from traces of vanadium and chromium.

• Color: Ranges from delicate pastel, minty green to slightly bluish-green or yellowish-green.
• Relation to Tsavorite: The consensus in the gem community is that Merelani Mint is simply a lighter, less saturated version of Tsavorite. The name "Merelani Mint" was originally coined by dealers as a marketing term to distinguish these lighter gems. 
• Fluorescence: A notable feature of this gem is its unique optical property; due to its chromium and vanadium content, it frequently exhibits a peachy-pink fluorescence when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light.
