Rutilated Quartz From India 1.88 CT

Rutilated quartz is a striking, transparent variety of quartz characterized by needle-like (acicular) inclusions of the mineral rutile. Often referred to as "Venus’ Hair" or "Angel’s Hair" because of the radiant golden, silver, copper, or black strands captured inside, each piece is entirely unique

Physical & Optical Properties

  • Composition: Silicon dioxide (SiO₂) with titanium dioxide (TiO₂) inclusions.
  • Color: Clear, smoky, or yellowish quartz base with shimmering internal "threads".
  • Hardness: 7 on the Mohs scale, making it durable enough for everyday jewelry like rings and pendants.
  • Luster: Vitreous (glassy).

Origins & Value
While inclusions typically lower the value of a gemstone, the striking aesthetic of rutilated quartz makes it a highly sought-after material for collectors and jewelry makers. High-quality, gem-grade material is largely sourced from Brazil, with smaller deposits found worldwide.
Value is determined by the clarity of the quartz body and the density, arrangement, and color of the rutile strands. Prices vary widely—from a few dollars for small, unpolished, or tumbled stones to hundreds or thousands of dollars for highly concentrated, large, or intricately carved display specimens.
Metaphysical Beliefs
In the world of crystal healing and spirituality, rutilated quartz is celebrated as an empowering "illuminator for the soul". It is widely believed to:

  • Dissolve negative energies, self-reliance issues, and past traumas.
  • Promote mental clarity, focus, and spiritual growth.
  • Act as an energetic amplifier that connects the user to higher spiritual guidance.
